Why we included this project

Legal documents are a specialized breed, and this list collects the tools and methods people actually use to analyze them with NLP. It covers everything from OCR and document pre-processing to large language models, plus libraries, datasets, annotation schemes, and research groups. Since the Liquid Legal Institute community maintains it, the entries skew toward real-world legal-tech practice rather than generic NLP roundups. It's a discovery resource, not something you deploy, so use it to find candidates worth testing on your own documents.
