Why we included this project

Leon is a self-hosted personal assistant that has moved well past the intent-classification chatbot it was in 2019. Its current core combines tools, memory, environment context, and agent-style execution, so instead of just replying with text it can take a goal, choose a skill or plan the steps, and see the task through. It ships with native skills for controlled actions, SKILL.md-backed agent skills, and bridges and toolkits for search, productivity, system utilities, media, and voice. That makes it a practical base for developers who want a privacy-aware assistant they can run on their own server, extend with custom skills, and connect to local or remote AI providers. The 2.0 developer preview is still settling and its documentation trails the new architecture, so expect to dig into the code rather than rely on polished docs.
