Why we included this project
Anyone who has tried to self-edit a scientific manuscript knows the problem: you cannot see the clutter because you already know what you meant to say. SciWrite encodes Dr. Kristin Sainani's Stanford writing course into five audit passes that catch filler phrases, passive constructions, weak verbs, run-on sentences, inconsistent terminology, and mismatched numbers or citations. Instead of generic style advice, it produces a report with concrete revisions and severity tags, and you can run just one pass, like a passive-voice cleanup, or walk through the manuscript paragraph by paragraph. It never touches your scientific content or data, only how the claims are delivered, which makes it useful for researchers, graduate students, and engineers preparing journal submissions. Since it is a skill definition rather than a standalone app, you will need an agent harness that supports Agent Skills to run it.
