Why we included this project

World Monitor is a self-hostable dashboard for keeping a live view of global events. It aggregates hundreds of curated news feeds, runs them through local or hosted language models to produce synthesized briefs, and lays the results out on interactive 3D and flat maps with dozens of layer types. Alongside the maps sit a country instability index and a finance radar covering exchanges, commodities, and crypto. Since it can run entirely with Ollama and no API keys, it works in air-gapped or privacy-conscious environments. The same data is also exposed through an MCP server, a REST API, a CLI, and official SDKs, so you can wire live intelligence into your own scripts and agents instead of only reading it on screen. A single codebase ships six themed variants and a native desktop app, which makes it a flexible base for building a specialized monitoring surface.
