Why we included this project
Agents that need to send and receive email usually require a mail server, credentials, and a fair amount of setup. This package skips most of that. It exposes 27 Model Context Protocol tools covering provisioning an address, reading and searching the inbox, replying, forwarding, scheduling sends, and managing contacts, auto-reply, and forwarding rules. The KeyID backend handles identity, so there are no API keys to manage and no mail server to stand up. A single npx command gives Claude Desktop, Cursor, or any other MCP client a working mailbox, which makes it a fast way to prototype autonomous email workflows.
