Why we included this project

Reddit MCP Buddy is a Model Context Protocol server that gives Claude Desktop and other MCP-capable assistants a working window into Reddit: browsing subreddits, searching posts, and pulling user activity. The zero-setup path is the main draw, since you can start browsing without registering for a Reddit API key, and free credentials add search, comments, user analysis, and engagement metrics when you need them. The data is deliberately kept clean and structured for LLM consumption, which makes a real difference for research or market-sentiment workflows where prompt noise gets in the way. You can install it globally, from source, or via Docker, and the npm package drops into an existing assistant setup without much fuss.
