Why we included this project

K-Dense BYOK is a desktop research assistant that carries out the work instead of just answering questions. You describe a task in plain language, and the assistant, Kady, inspects files on your machine, writes and runs analysis code, searches sources, and produces figures and reports. Your workspace stays in ordinary folders on your computer, and because you bring your own API keys, you can point it at a local Ollama model when data must not leave the machine. That makes it a practical fit for scientists who want reproducible, traceable analysis without writing code themselves, while still being able to watch each step and redirect the work as it runs.
