Why we included this project

AI agents like Claude Code, Cursor, and OpenCode can search the web, but the first time a site answers with a Cloudflare or Akamai challenge, most of them stall and the model falls back on guessing. browser-search bundles the pieces into a single plain-text SKILL.md you can edit: SearXNG handles the metasearch pass, Camofox does ordinary browsing, and CloakBrowser, a stealth Chromium-based browser, takes over automatically when a site throws up a challenge. Everything runs on your own machine, so there are no API keys, no rate limits, and no per-query fees, which matters for heavy research loads on modest hardware. The skill also pins the agent to deterministic scripts rather than improvised browsing steps, so the model retrieves and returns what the pages actually say instead of hallucinating. Teams that need grounded, verifiable answers from the live web will find it a quick way to add a self-hosted search and browse layer to their existing agents.
