Why we included this project

BiliNote answers a specific annoyance: you watch a long Bilibili, YouTube, or Douyin video, and by the end the useful parts have slipped away. Paste the link or point it at a local file, and it transcribes the audio, has an LLM shape the content into structured Markdown notes, and drops in auto-captured screenshots with timestamp links back into the original footage. A RAG-backed Q&A panel lets you ask follow-up questions about the material, so the output becomes a searchable record rather than a transcript wall. It runs as a self-hosted web app with a React frontend and FastAPI backend, ships Windows and macOS desktop clients, and works with several LLM providers, with local Whisper transcription covering offline use. If long-form video is a regular part of how you build study or reference notes, this is a good foundation to build on.
