Why we included this project
Huginn is a self-hosted automation system. The data flowing through your workflows stays on your own server rather than with a hosted service. You wire together agents that watch the web, scrape pages, and keep tabs on feeds and social streams, then have them trigger notifications by email, SMS, or webhook when conditions change. The agent graph model is the interesting part: events propagate between agents, you can add custom JavaScript, and a Mechanical Turk agent handles human-in-the-loop steps. It's a solid fit for teams that want dependable, long-running monitoring and notification pipelines without paying per seat.
