Why we included this project
holaOS is a local-first desktop app for running AI agents on your own machine. Instead of tying you to one vendor's agent, it lets Claude Code, Codex, and the built-in holaOS agent work side by side, all drawing on the same memory, tools, and skills. The memory is the part that matters in practice: it is stored as plain editable files on disk, so project context and history survive switching agents, restarting the app, or stepping away for a week. Every agent inherits the same OAuth connections and MCP integrations, which pays off when you are juggling GitHub, Slack, Notion, and a stack of other services. Browser and app surfaces let agents act inside real applications instead of just returning chat text, and you can use the bundled models or bring your own API keys.
