Auto-Deep-Research offers an OpenAI Deep Research-style workflow without the $200-a-month subscription. You hand it a topic and it carries out a multi-step investigation, pairing an LLM with a containerized environment that can browse, fetch files, and run actions before writing up a research report. It is built on the AutoAgent framework, and the focused codebase means you can get going with a single command after adding an API key. Model support is deliberately broad, covering OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and local deployments via vLLM, so you can route work to whatever model fits your budget or data constraints. It also handles function-calling and non-function-calling models alike, which keeps it usable when your LLM has no native tool support.
