Why we included this project

Editors who use Premiere Pro and want an AI assistant that can actually do something inside their timeline will find this project goes beyond the usual demo. It installs a local CEP panel into the app and exposes roughly 283 tools over the Model Context Protocol, so Codex, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and other MCP clients can read and modify whatever project is open instead of just talking about it. Tool coverage is practical and broad, reaching from ingest and timeline editing to transitions, effects, keyframes, captions, multicam, color, audio, and export-readiness checks, with bundled guided prompts for workflows like product-spot assembly and scene edit detection. CEP is the supported production path, while UXP is clearly marked experimental, and the CLI's verify and doctor commands let you confirm the whole connection works before an agent touches anything. That makes it a working bridge for solo editors automating repetitive exports or captions and for small teams exploring AI-driven post-production.
