Why we included this project

Most agent UIs hand you a chat box and little else, but MyAgents is built for longer-lived work on your own machine: it's a Tauri desktop client for macOS and Windows where each agent is bound to a real workspace, with the file tree, git branches, an embedded terminal and browser, and local full-text search in the same window. Because the AI works against actual files, you can watch it run commands and check the result without leaving the app, and the thoughts-and-tasks center turns half-formed ideas into one-shot or cron-scheduled jobs with reviewable state and logs, so a task survives as trackable state instead of getting lost in a chat transcript. The tooling is open, too: it works with many model providers, pulls in external tools and data via MCP over STDIO, HTTP, or SSE, and supports reusable skills plus per-workspace agents with their own prompts, models, and permissions. If you'd rather skip the built-in agent SDK, an external runtime such as Claude Code CLI, OpenAI's Codex CLI, or Google's Gemini CLI can drive the session instead. For developers and power users who want AI to touch real files and commands while keeping data local-first, it's a practical base to extend.
