Why we included this project

Mochi 1 turns written prompts into short, high-fidelity video clips, and it's one of the few open-weight models whose output gets close to what commercial services offer. The repo is built for actually running the thing rather than just reading about it: a CLI, a Gradio app, a composable Python API, and scripts that fetch the model weights and VAE are all included, so you can go from clone to generated footage without assembling a pipeline. LoRA fine-tuning works natively, and ComfyUI integration covers people who would rather stay in an existing workflow. With an Apache 2.0 license and a documented 10-billion-parameter architecture, it works as a base for both research and real products.
