Why we included this project

Conversational AI has a long paper trail, and this index collects the useful parts of it: chatbot projects, training corpora, research papers, and tutorials, with a dedicated section for Chinese-language chatbots and dialogue data that is harder to find elsewhere. The list skews toward sequence-to-sequence and TensorFlow-era work, so it reads more like a history of how modern chatbots developed than a guide to today's LLM tooling. That makes it a good starting point for students, researchers, and engineers who want the foundations before moving to newer stacks. It is a reading list and resource directory, not software you deploy.
