Why we included this project
Most AI writing tools treat each chapter like a fresh prompt, so long stories fall apart around the twentieth chapter when characters, worldbuilding, and planted subplots start contradicting one another. AI-Novel-Writer is a local-first desktop workbench built around that failure mode: you define the premise, character sheets, worldbuilding, and chapter blueprints, and the drafting pipeline follows that structure. AI review notes can be edited, ignored, or confirmed, and only merge into the manuscript after a diff comparison, so the author stays in control of what actually gets fixed. Project files remain on your own machine and the model is yours to configure, with Ollama supported, rather than a lock-in to one vendor. That makes it a practical choice for Chinese web-novel writers and anyone planning a long multi-volume story.
