Why we included this project

Eliza is a TypeScript framework for autonomous agents that act, not just chat. You define an agent's personality and capabilities, then extend it with plugins that register actions, providers, and evaluators, so the same core can drive a Discord bot, a Telegram assistant, or an onchain trading agent. The monorepo bundles the runtime, a CLI for scaffolding and deploying agents, first-party plugins, and an optional cloud service. A small team can go from a character file to a live agent without assembling a stack from scratch. It is model-agnostic and includes a local-inference path for running smaller models on-device, useful when you want agents to keep working offline.
