Why we included this project

Dust is a developer platform for building agents on top of large language models without writing all the orchestration code by hand. You describe an agent's behavior and the tools it can use, then trigger it through an API, and datasources can be created and updated programmatically alongside it. That suits engineering teams moving agents from prototype to production behind a stable interface, and teams that need agents wired into their existing product. The repository is the open-source core of the hosted Dust service, so it also works as a readable reference for how a production agent platform is built, or as the base for a self-hosted stack of your own.
