Why we included this project

DeepSeek's harness is normally a Node.js project, so getting started used to mean installing Node, pnpm, and the rest of the toolchain before you could run anything. This desktop client bundles the Node runtime and the Harness kernel into a small native installer, so it launches on Windows, macOS, or Linux without an existing setup and without touching one you already have. It also handles the everyday details: profiles keep plugins, patches, and settings isolated per workspace, a panel deals with plugin upgrades and removals, you can download and switch between multiple kernel versions, and the dsh command is registered for terminal use on install. If you want to try the agent harness and its plugin ecosystem without the environment work, especially on Windows where the Node and pnpm part is often the blocker, this gets you to a working setup from the first launch.
