Why we included this project
MarkFlowy is a cross-platform desktop Markdown editor with AI built in, aimed at writers and note-takers who want model help without giving up a fast, lightweight local app. The editing core is ProseMirror inside a Tauri shell, which keeps the install under 20MB and lets you switch between WYSIWYG and source view as needed. Beyond Markdown it opens JSON and plain text files, and the built-in assistant can translate sections, summarize articles, or export a conversation, connecting to models like DeepSeek and ChatGPT. Developers will find the React/TypeScript and Rust codebase easy to work with, though it is worth knowing the project is in beta and mid-reconstruction.
