Why we included this project
ClaudePrism is a desktop editor aimed at researchers who write in LaTeX and want AI help without shipping their files to a cloud service. Everything stays on your local disk and compiles offline through the bundled Tectonic engine once the initial package cache is in place. Claude appears in a side panel for editing, proofreading, and citation suggestions, while a built-in Python environment (uv and venv) handles analysis and plot generation without leaving the editor. It ships with over a hundred domain skills tuned for fields like bioinformatics, cheminformatics, and clinical research, and a Zotero integration keeps references close at hand. The project is openly early-stage: real-time collaboration and custom local model endpoints are still being built, but the write-compile-review loop already works.
