Why we included this project

PromptX sits between an AI assistant and the professional context you want it to carry. It uses the Model Context Protocol to hand an MCP-capable assistant like Claude Desktop or Cursor a set of pre-built expert roles, a persistent memory layer, and a sandboxed tool runtime, so you can give a generic chatbot a product strategist or writer persona without writing long system prompts yourself. Each role ships with defined personality and domain knowledge, and the memory system stores what the role learns as a semantic network of engrams rather than simple retrieval, which lets context survive across sessions. For developers there's a Docker image and an npm-installable MCP server; for less technical users, the desktop client offers a memory editor, sandbox debugging, and a remote access toggle. If you want reusable, consistent expert behavior across several AI applications without building your own memory or tooling layer, PromptX is a practical shortcut.
