n8n-MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that gives AI assistants direct access to n8n's node documentation, properties, and operations, so they can build and edit workflows instead of just describing them. It works with Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP-capable clients, and the coverage is deep: thousands of core and community nodes with schemas, plus real-world example configurations extracted from popular templates. That depth matters because n8n's node surface is large and easy to get wrong from memory. You can run it yourself with npx, Docker, or Railway, or use the hosted dashboard with a free tier, which makes it easy to start small and move to your own infrastructure later. If n8n is your main automation layer, this is a practical way to turn natural-language requests into working workflows.
