VATIC is an online video annotation tool that splits videos into short overlapping segments, sends them to Amazon Mechanical Turk workers, and merges the per-segment results back into full object tracks. It was designed to make large video datasets affordable, and it supports class labels, temporal attributes, and per-object or completion bonuses so you can trade cost against annotation quality. The project is archived, and the README itself points to CVAT as the modern successor, so treat it as a design blueprint and a learning resource rather than something to deploy fresh. If you want to see how crowdsourced annotation pipelines were actually built, the code and the accompanying IJCV 2012 paper are worth reading.
