Why we included this project

OpenBot is a self-hosted agent platform for teams that want to hand an AI real access to a computer and keep control of what it does. Every agent runs with its own logins and files, and only the tools you grant it, so a mistake stays contained instead of touching shared company resources. The interesting part is the governance layer: every browser action, file operation, MCP call, or UI component passes through a single gateway that checks policy, logs the outcome, and is closed when no rule allows it. You can also take the wheel mid-task at a login wall or 2FA prompt, and that intervention is itself logged. It speaks AG-UI, so agents built with LangGraph, CrewAI, or plain hand-written endpoints plug in the same way, and the bundled coworkers are configuration you edit rather than code.
