Why we included this project

AI agents need live, real-world data to be genuinely useful, and much of that data sits behind bot protection and CAPTCHAs. This MCP server gives agents live web access over the standard Model Context Protocol, so it connects to Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and similar clients with minimal setup. Its tools cover search queries, scraping pages into Markdown or HTML, batch lookups, and curated datasets for e-commerce, social, finance, and app stores. Bright Data's infrastructure handles the anti-bot work, and a free monthly tier of 5,000 credits is enough to prototype an agent that can browse the web in a few minutes. Teams can whitelist just the capabilities they want through the tool-group system, and a newer Code group feeds coding agents current npm and PyPI package metadata on demand.
