Why we included this project
Security trainers who teach wireless attacks usually need a pile of physical hardware: access points, switches, and client devices. WifiForge, from Black Hills InfoSec, collapses that into a single Docker container built on Mininet-WiFi. It spins up a realistic network topology on demand and comes with the attack tools already loaded, so a class can work through WEP cracking with aircrack-ng, WPA handshake attacks, evil-twin setups, and denial-of-service scenarios without anyone touching a licensed access point. The built-in guided labs walk through each attack step by step, which makes the tool easy to run as a classroom exercise, a CTF station, or a self-paced warm-up. Everything lives in the container, so resetting between sessions is just a restart, and handing it to students requires nothing more than a recent Linux host.
