Why we included this project

takopi is for people who live in a terminal but still need to start or check on coding work from their phone. It runs codex, Claude Code, opencode, or pi on your machine and exposes them through a Telegram bot, so you can send a task from anywhere and watch the commands, tool calls, and file changes come back as they happen. The project handles the awkward parts of remote agent work: repos and branches live in git worktrees, a session can be resumed from a chat line or copied back into the terminal, and Telegram group topics map to specific repo and branch contexts. Files move in both directions, and it uses whatever Anthropic or OpenAI subscription you already have instead of setting up its own billing. If you juggle several agent sessions across projects, the per-session queues and steering controls are the features that stand out, and the plugin system lets you add new engines, transports, and commands without forking the repo.
