Why we included this project

Automagica grew out of a 2018 effort to make robotic process automation available as open source, not something tied to a commercial vendor. The suite pairs a bot runtime that drives desktop and web automations with a visual flow designer that still lets you drop in Python when point-and-click runs out of room, plus an AI-assisted UI element picker for targeting buttons and fields on arbitrary screens. A Jupyter-style lab supports building automations iteratively, and a portal keeps track of bots, credentials, and logs once you're managing more than one machine. Development stopped in 2020 when Netcall acquired the project, so think of this less as something to run in production today and more as a clean reference for how an RPA stack is put together. That makes it a genuinely useful study for teams weighing a homegrown setup against commercial products.
