Why we included this project

This one earns a look if you want AI assistants to actually touch the work tracked in Jira and Confluence without exposing a service account to the whole team. Atlassian hosts it as a cloud service, so there is nothing for you to deploy; the server simply speaks MCP and exposes read, search, and write tools for Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket, and Compass. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and similar clients connect over OAuth 2.1 or API tokens, and because those credentials map back to real users, every action an assistant takes stays within the permissions that person already has. That directness makes small automations practical, like asking a coding assistant to pull up the linked ticket while you edit, or turning a set of meeting notes into a Jira issue without leaving your chat window. Install links for the common clients are included, and the repo also packages the server for the MCP Registry and Agent Plugins.
