Why we included this project
Astrofox is a complete motion graphics program rather than a single-purpose visualizer library, which makes a difference for anyone who regularly produces audio-reactive video. You feed it a track, it analyzes the audio in real time, and shapes and effects pulse to the beat without hand-placing keyframes. The app runs client-side as a Next.js app with no backend or auth to set up, and it also packages as an offline Electron desktop build; either path can export finished video, WebM in the browser or MP4 via bundled ffmpeg on desktop. Projects are saved as local JSON files, so your work stays under your own control. For people who want a free, self-hosted alternative to commercial visualizer tools and are comfortable with a build step, this is a practical place to start.
