Why we included this project
Ruby has never had the natural language processing ecosystem that Python does, so finding working libraries usually means digging through scattered GitHub results. This list narrows that down to tools the maintainer actually checked, favoring documented projects that are still maintained and built for a specific job rather than abandoned experiments. Each entry also explains the scope and motivation behind the gem, which makes it easier to tell something that can carry production traffic from a hobby project. Ruby developers who need tokenization, part-of-speech tagging, sentiment analysis, or text classification will get to the right libraries faster here than by searching GitHub topics on their own.
