Why we included this project

Apify's MCP server connects AI agents to thousands of ready-made scrapers from the Apify Store. Through the Model Context Protocol, those scrapers become tools an agent can call directly, pulling data from social media, search engines, maps, and e-commerce sites without your team writing and maintaining its own extraction scripts. Claude.ai and VS Code clients connect over OAuth, and the hosted endpoint at mcp.apify.com handles newer capabilities like output schema inference for structured actor results. The same server also runs locally via stdio when you would rather keep things in-house. For agent workflows that depend on current, site-specific web data, this removes a lot of the plumbing work.
