Why we included this project

DSH Desktop packages the DeepSeek Harness agent runtime as a native Windows and macOS app, so you can run coding agents locally without first installing a Node.js toolchain or working from the terminal. It pins a specific upstream build of the harness and runs it unchanged, then adds the pieces a desktop app should have: windows, a system tray, a built-in terminal, auto-updates, and per-workspace profiles. The desktop shell itself is a plugin in the same Cordis composition, which means third-party plugins for models, skills, tools, and UIs install into the same runtime as the app. For individuals and small teams, that makes it a practical way to get the harness's full feature set behind a double-click installer instead of a developer setup.
