Why we included this project

Most of the work in making a presentation happens before the slides exist, so an AI tool that first produces a reviewable outline and then fills in the deck is genuinely useful. This open-source Gamma alternative follows that outline-first flow, letting you edit the structure before generation and keeping the finished slides editable afterward. It handles the design side too: 38 built-in themes, custom theme creation, PPTX theme import, AI or stock imagery, and export to .pptx or direct presentation. Because it supports OpenAI and local models like Ollama and LM Studio, it works for teams that prefer hosted generation as well as those who want to run text generation on their own hardware, making it a reasonable choice for sales, consulting, teaching, and internal reporting teams that need branded decks without paying per-slide SaaS fees.
