Why we included this project

Avatarify Python lets you turn a single still photo of a face into a live avatar that copies your expressions and head movements during a video call, so you can show up as a celebrity or a coworker, or even a StyleGAN-sampled person who never existed. It grew out of the First Order Motion Model, and the codebase is a useful example of how a research project becomes a working desktop tool, with Docker, Google Colab, and remote-GPU options for machines that lack a local GPU. This is the command-line edition, though: you install the dependencies yourself, and the maintainers point most users to the easier Avatarify Desktop app instead. If you want to study real-time face reenactment or run the original pipeline directly, this is a fun and instructive place to start.
