Why we included this project

Lottie solves a specific, common problem: getting After Effects animations into an app without an engineer rebuilding them by hand. A designer exports the animation as JSON with Bodymovin, and the library parses and renders it natively on Android, iOS, Web, and React Native, so what ships matches the original artwork. It handles the vector rendering, easing, and layer composition for you, and there's a Compose variant for modern Android UIs. Because it's a rendering library rather than a generation tool, you bring your own animation assets, but the payoff is consistent, lightweight motion across every platform your product targets. Years of production use at Airbnb and elsewhere mean the rough edges are mostly worked out.
