Why we included this project

Clypra is for people who keep hitting the paywall of short-form editors like CapCut just to remove a watermark or unlock a basic effect. It's a native desktop app built on Tauri and Rust, so trimming, multi-track compositing, and export all run locally on your hardware instead of through a browser or cloud service. The workflow is familiar to anyone who has used CapCut: multi-format media import, frame-accurate cutting, audio waveforms, text overlays, and FFmpeg-based export with codec choices. Optional AI features, like natural-language editing and auto-captions, are paid extras, but the core editor stays free and open source. That makes it a solid fit for teams that want reliable offline editing and developers who want to extend or customize their tooling.
