Why we included this project

Research teams that need to show exactly how a figure or report was produced will appreciate how Open Science Desktop ties each artifact back to the code, inputs, and conversation that generated it. The workbench runs locally by default, so raw data and session history stay on your machine unless you choose to send them elsewhere, which helps groups working with restricted or sensitive datasets. It is model-agnostic, and the bundled agent runtime takes a project from exploration through to a finished report. Longer projects get persistent memory and named sessions, and the phone gateway lets you check on a long-running job without sitting at the desk. It behaves more like a customizable toolkit than a finished app, so expect to spend some time wiring in your own models and skills before.
