Why we included this project

Activepieces began as an open source replacement for Zapier and has grown into a home for AI agents too. Teams can wire together hundreds of SaaS apps, databases, and internal tools in a visual, no-code builder, then reuse those same building blocks with LLM-driven agents. The part that stands out is that every integration piece is automatically exposed as an MCP server, so the connectors you set up in the editor can be called directly from Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Windsurf. Pieces are written in TypeScript, giving developers hot reloading and full control, while non-technical colleagues still get an approachable interface with approval steps for human oversight. For small teams that want one self-hosted tool covering both classic automation and agent tooling, it avoids the per-seat fees of hosted SaaS options.
