Why we included this project

Object detection and tracking research is scattered across dozens of papers, repos, and blog posts, and this collection does the sorting for you. It organizes papers, datasets, code, tutorials, and blog posts into one index that follows the field's actual progression, from region proposals and the R-CNN/YOLO/SSD/RetinaNet detector line through anchor-free methods, then into tracking-by-detection, Siamese trackers, and identity embedding. Each subsection points to the canonical paper, its PDF, and usually the reference implementation, so you can go from reading a method to running its code without a separate search. Datasets are grouped by use case, including UAV, synthetic, microscopy and cell tracking, and video understanding, which makes it easier to find a benchmark that fits your problem. It is a research index rather than a drop-in library, so treat it as the starting point for a literature review and for locating the codebases you will actually adapt.
