Why we included this project
Goose is a general-purpose AI agent that runs on your own machine, and it is not limited to coding. It comes as a native desktop app for macOS, Linux, and Windows, a full CLI for terminal workflows, and an API you can embed anywhere, all written in Rust. Since it works with 15+ model providers and connects to 70+ extensions through the Model Context Protocol, you can drive it with the models and tools you already use instead of getting locked into one vendor. It can install, execute, edit, and test on your behalf, which makes it useful for automating research, writing, data analysis, and other everyday tasks beyond coding.
