Why we included this project

This Obsidian plugin turns your vault into something you can actually talk to. It runs a retrieval pipeline over your notes, embedding them, pulling the passages most relevant to your question, and feeding those to a local model via Ollama or to ChatGPT, so answers come with links back to the source notes rather than generic guesswork. You can switch between models on the fly, save chats to resume later, and pick between a couple of chat layouts to suit how you work. Because everything can run fully offline, it is a good fit if you want AI-assisted note retrieval without shipping your personal knowledge to a third-party service. Individual note-takers and small teams who already live in Obsidian and want grounded answers with traceable citations will get the most value from it.
