Why we included this project

Teams that keep their work in Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian, and GitHub usually end up hunting for information across half a dozen apps. Xyne indexes those connected services, builds a graph of how people, files, tickets, and messages relate, and answers plain-language questions with citations pointing back to the source documents. It is self-hosted and works with whatever LLM you already use, including a local model, which is the main reason teams with strict data rules can adopt it without sending internal content to a third-party API. Access stays governed by the permissions your apps already enforce, so the tool does not quietly widen who can see what. For a small team that wants an internal search and answer assistant without the enterprise price tag, this is a straightforward option.
