Why we included this project

Wave Terminal is a full desktop terminal emulator that puts AI assistance where you already work, inside the shell. The assistant reads your terminal output and scrollback, so it can debug errors with the real context in front of it, and it can edit files with automatic backups and your approval before anything changes. You bring your own API keys for OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or Azure, or point it at local models through Ollama and LM Studio, so there is no vendor lock-in and no account to create. The durable SSH sessions that reconnect automatically and the built-in graphical editor for remote files make it genuinely useful if you manage servers or work across machines. If you want model help without switching to a separate chat window, this is a strong everyday terminal.
