Why we included this project
Event cameras capture scene changes at microsecond speed, and the field around them has grown its own literature, software, and hardware ecosystem. This repository gathers that ecosystem in one place, maintained by the Robotics and Perception Group at the University of Zurich with input from a large community of contributors. Rather than shipping a single tool, it is a curated index whose table of contents is organized around concrete problems: optical flow, SLAM, depth estimation, segmentation, pose estimation, and eye tracking each get their own sections, so you can jump straight to the papers, code, or datasets for the problem you care about. It also covers simulators, synthetic data generators, drivers and calibration software, neuromorphic processors, hardware manufacturers, and even courses and theses. Researchers new to event-based vision will find it a fast way to get oriented, while engineers evaluating hardware or algorithms can use the curated lists to locate credible sources and existing open-source implementations.
