Why we included this project

BeeCount is a Flutter bookkeeping app built around a simple idea: your financial data stays yours. It runs offline-first on iOS and Android with a self-hostable web companion, and the ledger covers what a daily driver needs, multiple ledgers and accounts, budgets, recurring entries, tags, charts, and CSV import and export for Alipay and WeChat records. The AI layer is where it gets interesting: a natural-language assistant, OCR that reads payment-app screenshots, voice dictation, and screenshot-based auto-logging get expenses recorded without typing, and an optional Model Context Protocol bridge lets an LLM operate the ledger directly. Sync is your choice too: iCloud, WebDAV, S3, Supabase, or a self-hosted Docker cloud that adds shared ledgers and AES-256 encrypted backups, which is the right call if vendor lock-in is what you're trying to avoid. Families and small teams get a shared-ledger setup out of the box, so the self-hosted option covers more than one person's spending.
