Why we included this project

OpenMAIC turns a topic description or an uploaded document into a full narrated lesson, complete with slides, quizzes, interactive simulations, and project work. A cast of AI agents plays the teacher, the teaching assistant, and the classmates, so the experience feels like a live discussion rather than a video you watch alone. The project has been used with hundreds of students at Tsinghua University, which means the classroom dynamics come from real use, not a demo script. It is built on Next.js with LangGraph handling the agent orchestration, and it works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and DeepSeek, so you can self-host it or push it to Vercel and plug in your own model keys. For educators prototyping course material or self-learners who want an active, discussion-driven format, this is a solid, extensible starting point.
