Why we included this project

Sweep started as a GitHub app that would turn a bug report or feature request straight into a pull request. The team has since pivoted to an IDE plugin for JetBrains, so if you spend your days in PyCharm or IntelliJ, you can describe a change the way you'd brief a junior developer and Sweep will plan the edit against your codebase and hand back a diff to review. That removes the usual back-and-forth of copying code between a chat window and your editor. For teams already working inside JetBrains who want LLM assistance without leaving their tools, it's a practical fit. One thing to watch: the current versions ship under a commercial enterprise license, so check the terms before you rely on it in production.
